Timovolt Cookie Policy
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small text files stored on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website or use an application. They serve various purposes: maintaining your session, remembering your preferences, enhancing your user experience, maintaining secure sessions, and supporting operational functionality.
Cookies can be classified as:
- Essential (strictly necessary) cookies: required for the platform to function; do not require consent.
- Functional cookies: enhance user experience (e.g., language preferences); require consent.
- Analytics cookies: track platform usage and performance; require consent.
Timovolt may also use browser local storage, session storage, secure application tokens, device identifiers, or comparable operating-system storage mechanisms necessary for authentication, operational continuity, interface preferences, and platform security.
2. Cookies used by Timovolt
2.1 Essential (session management) cookies
These cookies are necessary for Timovolt to function and are exempt from consent requirements under the ePrivacy Directive:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
laravel_session | Timovolt | Maintains your authenticated session throughout your visit; tracks login state and user identity. | Essential | Session (expires when the browser closes) |
XSRF-TOKEN | Timovolt | Protects against Cross-Site Request Forgery; verifies that requests originate from your session. | Essential | Session (expires when the browser closes) |
remember_web_* | Timovolt | Optional: enables "Remember me" functionality on login. Only set when you explicitly activate it; not set by default. | Functional (opt-in, consent required) | 6 months (if "Remember me" is activated) |
The laravel_session and XSRF-TOKEN cookies are strictly necessary and require no consent. The remember_web_* cookie is optional and functional, and requires consent. These technologies maintain secure authentication, prevent fraud, preserve session integrity, and ensure operational platform security.
2.2 Functional cookies
These cookies enhance your experience and remember your preferences. They require your prior consent under Article 5(3) of the ePrivacy Directive:
| Name | Provider | Purpose | Type | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
language | Timovolt | Stores your language preference (e.g., Dutch, English) so the platform displays in your preferred language. | Functional | 1 year |
ui_preferences | Timovolt | Remembers UI preferences such as filter states and layout choices. | Functional | 1 year |
onboarding_state | Timovolt | Tracks onboarding progress and dismissed tips to personalise your first-time experience. | Functional | 1 year (reset on dismissal or account deletion) |
tv-charge-map-consent | Timovolt | Remembers your choice to load the Google Maps charge map (stored in your browser's local storage, not a cookie). | Functional | Until cleared |
You can decline these cookies, though this may reduce the personalisation of your experience.
2.3 Third-party resources (maps and CDNs)
Timovolt's site loads map tiles from CARTO and OpenStreetMap (via the Leaflet library) to render the corridor map, and loads fonts and scripts from content delivery networks (Google Fonts, unpkg, and jsDelivr). The charge point map inside the platform is provided by Google Maps; it loads only after you choose to load it, and your choice is remembered in your browser. When these resources load, the relevant providers may process your device, browser, IP, and location-related data, and may set cookies or similar technologies on your device in accordance with their own privacy and cookie policies. Timovolt does not control third-party cookies or processing performed independently by these providers.
For details, see the providers' own policies, for example: CARTO, OpenStreetMap, and Google (Google Maps and Google Fonts).
2.4 Analytics cookies
Timovolt uses two analytics services on its public website. Neither loads unless you choose "Accept all" on the cookie banner, and choosing "Essential only" keeps both switched off entirely.
- Leadinfo identifies the organisation behind a visit from the visitor's IP address, so we can see which companies are interested in the platform. It does not identify you personally.
- HubSpot records page views and clicks on our calls to action, and links a later form submission to those earlier visits, so we can follow up on an enquiry with its context.
Both providers may set their own cookies and process device, browser and IP data under their own policies: Leadinfo and HubSpot. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser, which resets the banner. Timovolt does not deploy behavioural advertising or cross-site advertising profiling.

4. Legal basis for cookie usage
Our use of cookies is governed by:
- ePrivacy Directive (2002/58/EC), Article 5(3): requires prior informed consent for storing or accessing information on a user's device, unless the cookie is strictly necessary for the provision of the service explicitly requested by the user.
- Dutch Telecommunications Act, Article 11.7a: implements the ePrivacy Directive in the Netherlands, requiring consent for non-essential cookies.
- GDPR (EU 2016/679): where cookies process personal data, the applicable legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) (legitimate interest) and strict necessity under Article 5(3) ePrivacy Directive for strictly necessary session cookies, and Article 6(1)(a) (consent) for functional cookies.
Consent may be withdrawn at any time via the cookie banner or browser settings without affecting the lawfulness of processing prior to withdrawal (Article 7(3) GDPR).
5. Managing your consent
5.1 Cookie banner
When you first visit Timovolt, a cookie consent banner appears. You can accept all cookies or accept essential cookies only. Your consent choice is stored on your device for 12 months. You can change it at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out prior to withdrawal.
5.2 Browser settings
You can also control cookies through your browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari) under their privacy or site-data sections. Note: blocking essential cookies may impair platform functionality, including authentication, secure access, operational continuity, and map functionality.
6. Third-party cookies
Timovolt does not use marketing, advertising, or tracking services (such as Facebook Pixel, LinkedIn Insight Tag, or Google Ads conversion tracking), and does not use cookies or tracking technologies for behavioural advertising, cross-site profiling, advertising networks, or social-media retargeting. The only third-party requests come from the maps and CDN resources described in section 2.3, which are governed by those providers' own privacy policies.
7. Changes to this policy
Timovolt may update this Cookie Policy to reflect changes in our technology, legal requirements, or business practices. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on the site. Your continued use of Timovolt after such changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
